Early Inspiration

My grandmother's living room had a huge tapestry panel of the magnificent sun smiling calmly on one wall. Little did I realize that this beautiful weave, a double Ikkat tapestry that had travelled to the Festival of India, would seed in me a fascination for natural colours. The complexity of the weave and the vibrant natural colours, dyed to perfection and woven with impeccable mastery was my first inspiration. A beautiful yellow Kanchipuram saree that my mother had worn for her wedding, which was dyed with turmeric, so that it absorbs the colours of that precious moment, as my mother says, bowled me over. The Sambalpuri saree my mother still cherishes, woven using yarns dyed with Manjistha, lead me on this spirited journey of natural dyeing

The Evolution

With these memories in mind, as a young designer, natural dyes and slow fashion were an obvious design choice. This was my calling, the path that I wanted to embark on. Thus was born a comfort fit, natural dyed, zero-waste inspired,  Indo-western apparel line called "The Earth Flower".

The Earth Flower

An apparel line that is designed with handloom cotton fabric, hand dyed with flowers, peels and leaves that are gathered from a wedding, a warm kitchen or from trees in the neighbourhood farms. Each apparel crafted one piece at a time in beautiful colours, hand dyed and embellished with subtle embroidery, is sure to make you feel unique and special. It is a reminder of the spring colours in nature, the petrichor on a monsoon morning, the 'flame of the forest' of an Indian summer and the rainbow hues of everything that is natural.

SPEAKING TO THE EARTH,
ONE APPAREL AT A TIME

Taking ownership of quality

The Earth Flower began as a personal dream, a way for me to blend my love for design with a deep respect for nature and traditional craftsmanship. I wanted to create garments that tell a story of where it comes from, how it’s made, and the hands behind it. Fashion, to me, isn’t just about trends. It’s about expression, culture, and care. But the reality of the industry today, the waste, the pollution, and the disregard for craft pushed me to choose a different path.

Our Ethos & Goals

At The Earth Flower, we work with handloom  fabrics and natural dyes sourced from nature. Every piece is made using age-old techniques like Shibori dyeing, Block printing and Kantha embroidery methods that honor both heritage and the earth. We follow a zero-waste approach, making sure every bit of fabric is used with intention. Our goal is simple: to create beautiful, lasting garments that feels good on the skin, and in the heart. This brand is my way of giving back to the planet, and to the people who inspire me. It’s fashion, reimagined, thoughtful, grounded, and full of soul.

Our Fabric

At The Earth Flower, we currently work with only cotton. The handloom cotton fabric is mainly sourced from women cooperatives and weaver clusters. The 2/40 and 2/60 woven fabric ensures breathability and is excellent on the skin, softening with every wash. The Earth Flower also works with Organic cotton which is sourced from a GOTS certified vendor. As a small step towards contributing to the environment, we have also created ensembles using recycled cotton. The natural dyes are sourced from the hinterlands, while certain flowers and seeds are sourced locally, making us truly sustainable in our philosophy.
