THE EARTH FLOWER

Healing the Earth, one apparel at a time
About
My name is Sudhanshu Avlur
My journey began at NIFT Bangalore, where I saw firsthand how fast fashion affects the planet. Seeing the strain on water and the growing piles of waste, it pushed me to choose a different path.
From this came an earth‑friendly label rooted in natural dyes and zero‑waste ideas.
Every scrap of fabric is turned into something useful, and every dye is gentle enough to nourish a garden. Nothing is left behind—only mindful making.

Embracing Tradition and Minimalism
Inspired by Japanese minimalism and the slow craft of Kusaki‑Zome, The Earth Flower grows from a belief in Mottainai. Every piece is made to bring together nature and simplicity, celebrating the charm of imperfect forms. Natural tones and thoughtful hands guide our work, keeping everything warm and understated.

Design Philosophy
-
We focus on creating clothing that moves naturally with you. Every piece is made to look good, feel good, and fit comfortably in daily life.
-
With simple, easy shapes that suit many body types, our designs offer lasting versatility.
-
By blending traditional craft with modern living, we create garments that highlight your natural beauty in a thoughtful, mindful way.

Our Inspiration - Mottanai
-
Inspired by the Japanese idea of Mottainai, the Earth Flower reflects a call from Asian, especially Japanese Buddhist thought, to value nature’s gifts.
-
It invites simple, mindful choices that help reduce waste and nurture the planet.

Zero Waste Fashion
We turn leftover fabric into useful, meaningful pieces, keeping waste low and giving each scrap a new purpose. This gentle way of making clothes honors the hands behind the work and supports a kinder future for fashion.

The Craftsmanship
-
Our handloom cotton fabric is woven using age‑old methods that preserve the heart of artisan craft. Each piece is shaped by skilled hands, creating fabric that feels warm, breathable, and deeply connected to the people who make it.
-
With every purchase, we stand with artisan communities, helping sustain their traditions and secure meaningful work. Our fabric is sourced from the women’s cooperative Charaka in Sagara, in Karnataka’s Shimoga district

Natural Dyes
Kasuki-Zome
-
Plant‑based dyeing offers a soft shift in fashion, creating colours that feel natural and warm.
-
It suits slow fashion, staying friendly to both the environment and your skin, with shades that look rich and grounded.
-
In Many Hues ~ Marigold: for gentle yellow, Palash: for glowing orange, Madder: for grounded red, Sappan wood: for lush purple, Hartaki: for warm red‑orange, Catechu: for deep brown, Indigo: for strong blue
